Interview with hiphop artist and producer Axel Duhart Vi aka Big AX-D, about all things creating music on your own, travelling to different countries for a challenge and an imagination boost and what it was like making hiphop music in Mexican as a child - BEFORE it was cool.
Axel is a really interesting and inventive music maker originally from Mexico and currently living in Berlin, Germany (when we recorded this interview). I met Axel at university in Melbourne, Australia and we haven't spoken properly in 10 years! Just supporting each other via socials from across the world.
This was such a fun and interesting interview as Axel is a challenge chaser, seeking out discomfort so he can grow, which influences his creativity and shows in his music style and his progression and discovery of himself as an artist.
He's been making music for most of his life and he has just released an album called "Still Unchained," a followup album to his last one "Unchained." I reference one of the songs in the interview called "The Hunger," which you will find in the album link below.
